How Auction Items Close - One Category Closes Every 5 Minutes
Auction items begin closing after 9 PM, with one category closing every five minutes. So for example, Arts & Collectibles will close at 9:05, with Auto & Marine closing at 9:10 and so on down the line.
We hope this will give you more of a chance to place those last minute bids. Don't forget. You can place a Maximum bid and have the Auction Software bid for you. See below for details.

Old Registrations Not Valid This Year
To help us cut down on support requests and to make sure all of our information is current, we are asking EVERYONE to register this year, even if you have registered in past years. Thank you.
Also, please don't forget to CONFIRM your registration after you submit your info by clicking on the link in the "Please Confirm Your Registration" email you should receive. You cannot bid if you are not confirmed. Contact us if you don't receive the confirmation email.

What is a Maximum Bid?
Below is a typical Maximum (or Reserve) bidding situation:
Item X has a current high bid of $15. And minimum bids on this item will increase by $2 each bid. For example, once someone bids $15 the next bidder must bid $17 or more.
Bidder A decides they would like this item and are willing to spend $38 to get it. They place a maximum bid of $38.
The item now shows a high bid of $17 dollars.
Bidder B comes along and bids $19.
The high bid now shows $21 to Bidder A. Bidder B realizes that someone must have a maximum bid in on this item.
Bidder B now places a maximum bid of $53. (B really wants this item.)
The bid now shows a high bid of $40 (Bidder A's maximum bid of $38 plus $2) to Bidder B.
If no one bids above Bidder B's maximum bid, bidder B will win every bid.
Once a bid is placed over the current maximum bid, the new high bidder takes control, and so on and so on, until many kids and their families are helped because of each bidder's generosity.

How do I redeem the auction items I've won?
All items are redeemed after the auction closes on Dec. 2nd.
Payment for Items may be made using a Mastercard or Visa or by personal check.
Items specified as drop-shipped items will be shipped after payment is received. Payment may be made online. You will receive details in your Winning Bidder email after the auction closes.
All other items may be redeemed in person at House of Hope Monday-Friday starting Dec. 4th between 10 am and 4 pm, or call (231) 946-5350 to make arrangements. All items should be redeemed by Friday, Dec. 12th, 2008. Drop-shipped items should be redeemed by December 7th to ensure Christmas delivery.
